Being in a band and writing music is a wonderful thing, but it also sets boundaries and limits to how your songs should sound like and which genre they should follow. Usually it takes some time until a band finds its own style of music or niche they want to fit in to. And when found, it is nothing you completely change when writing new songs – except you are Radiohead. This is why I decided to found eranaës as some sort of musical project that gives me the possibility to write music being more variable allthough still being rock and metal. The goal is to combine different styles from different metal genres and create something genuine and new. Well… as music exists for aeons, it probably will not be THAT genuine and THAT new! But lets see where it takes us.
Following this approach also means, that eranaës will work with different musicians for the songs and being a project rather than a band. This will also add a certain uniqueness to each song, as the varying musicians bring in their own ideas and own style of playing. Plus I find it very intriguing working with different people, learning from them and let me inspire.
This doesn’t stop with the musicians. As – at least in my understanding – hearing is connected to seeing, also for the artwork and music videos I will be happy to work with different people and artists, adding their vision and style to make each song a unique piece.
eranaës’ first single will be out late summer/early autumn 2022 and will aready come up with some interesting collaborations with great musicians from Switzerland, USA and Armenia.
