As I was a fan and collector of singles (Vinyl, but also CD-Singles later, only that they were a little rare) and maxi singles, I wanted to not only release “After The Rain” as a sole song. The nice thing on singles and especially maxis was, that – sometimes – you either got some great B-Side songs (that seldomly even were better than the A-Side) or remixes/alternative versions of the original song.
For the release of “After The Rain”, I also wanted to add an alternative version, the “Original” version. When composing and arranging the song, originally it was only sung by myself, and instead of Derek’s Synth-Solo, there was a very soulful guitar solo.
So today, Alain Schneble – my former bandmate from Second Reign – came to Mack Music Studios to record his guitar solo for the original version. Alain, Mack and I had a great time and it was almost like in the old days when we recorded the debut album for Second Reign.
