Finally. After more than 6 months of planning, recording, mixing and mastering, shooting the videos and editing, writing bios, photoshootings, and numerous other tasks, the release date of “After The Rain” has come. A huge thank you to all the contributors in the foreground and background. Without you, it wouldn’t have been possible.
ERANAËS – After The Rain (Piano Version) feat. Margarita Monet & Arsen Petrosyan 08.12.2022 12:00 CET
Just a little before christmas, the piano version of “After The Rain” is eventually released. Being a stripped down version with only Margarita and Stephan on the vocals, Arsen with a soulful duduk solo and piano and some string orchestration, the piano version spreads a quiet, yet intense mood and gives the song a whole new dimension.

erenaës VLOG#9 – Guitar Recording with Alain Schneble and Mack Schildknecht 21.11.2022
For the alternative version of “After The Rain” (called original version), Alain Schneble recorded a soulful guitar solo (instead of Derek’s Synth solo for the single version). So Alain and I visited Mack Schildknecht once again on August 12th 2022 and had a great time recording.
Every single or album needs a cover. For “After The Rain”, I wanted to have something unique, special and different. Being friends with artist Christope Terraz for over 30 years, he agreed to paint a unique piece of art in his very own style, having nothing but the lyrics and an early demo version of the song.
The good thing about having a music project instead of a band is, that one can try out the weirdest things without anyone being afraid to loose their reputation. Some things turn out to be complete nonsense and don’t work, others work just great. As someone who doesn’t like to be photographed, I looked for a method to not being too much in the focus of the picture. Why not using an umbrella? If an umbrella can protect you from getting wet in the rain, it might also keep you from being to much in the foreground. Of course, the umbrella needed some special gimmicks. And as a reference to the song “After The Rain”, this probably is the first self-raining umbrella in history of mankind.
On August 11th 2022, Simon Burri came to Mack Music to record the second and last part of the guitars for “After The Rain”. And yes, there even was an acoustic guitar. As I mentioned in an earlier video, there is a secret for great vocals. Funny enough, it looks like it also works for recording great guitars. But… have a look for yourself.
We are recording since quite a while now, but we haven’t yet revealed the name of the song. But instead of writing it down, I rather created a video. It is hard to guess I know, and I didn’t make it easy for anyone. But if you listen very, very closely, you might guess the name of eranaës first single.
I “meet” Simon when his progessive metal band Sinverse was looking for a singer. At that time, I already was the singer in Second Reign, but thought about a second engagement, especially because they were rehearsing some 5 minutes away from my home. I never auditioned, but when Second Reign was looking for a support band for a gig, I asked Simon if he and his band would like to join us. Long story short, when thinking about who could/would play the guitar on eranaës first track, I thought about him. Despite being already involved in many other projects, Simon joined the project for this song and recorded the rhythm guitars on June 14th 2022.
Sometimes I am being asked about what to do to perform top vocals in the studio and live. Usually, I don’t have an answer, as I do what I do. And funny enough, when creating the demos for the songs in my little homestudio, my vocals never sound as good as in the studio.Besides Mack Schildknecht being a great producer and knowing where and how to pull and push the levers – not only on the soundboard, but also “on” the musicians being in the studio – there might be one secret, that I reveal in todays vlog.
On May 24th 2022, Stephan Lipp recorded the male lead vocals at Mack Music Studio in Switzerland. Despite the song being planned as a duet with a female singer, Stephan recorded the whole song/lyrics. Stephans full track will be featuring in a B-Side of the upcoming single, being referred to as the “Original” version. It was a long day, but as usual, Mack Schildknecht was teasing out the best of Stephans voice.
The recording sessions for eranaës first single was started with the drums on May 13th 2022. Alain Ackermann of Eluveiti fame and a friend of Mack Schildknecht (being the drummer for Macks band Fueled By Grace back in the days) set up his drum kit at Mack Music Studio. After some warm up, Alain started to hit the drumhead. After a few takes and some minor discussions about some drumfills, the work was done. It was an epiphany seing Alain at work. What an extraordinary talent he is.
After the drum sessions, Alain, Mack and I went out for a nice dinner with some chit chatting about music, bands and live in general.
